Paul Pierce led the way for the Wizards with 22 points and moves up to 3rd all time in three pointers made in a 105-99 win over the slumping Chicago Bulls. The Wizards were able to win this one despite a season high 32 points from Derrick Rose.

Derrick Rose came out blazing hot in the first quarter. Three pointers, mid range shots, floaters in the lane, they were all falling for Rose. He even hit a half court shot as time expired to cap off his career high 17 points in the first quarter.

The Wizards were able to stay close thanks to some nice shooting from Bradley Beal and Nene. Brad had 7 points on 3-3 shooting in the first.

There’s something about the Bulls that brings out the best in Nene. Ever since the playoff series last year, it seems like Nene has great games against the Bulls. Tonight was no different as the big man had 13 points and eight assists. Additionally, he was aggressive and went right at Gasol and Noah from the beginning. It’s known that Gasol does not like contact so Nene made sure to go right at him and make him uncomfortable.

The Wizards were down 50-44 despite a solid 45% shooting from the field. Turnovers reared its’ ugly head again as the Wizards committed 12 in the first half.

It was Gortat’s turn to go to work at the start of the 3rd. Joakim Noah rolled his ankle towards the end of the half and did not return. Gortat took advantage of a smaller front court. The Polish hammer went 5-5 with 10 points in the quarter. Paul Pierce picked up where he left off driving to the hole and continuing to hit mid range jumpers.

The fourth quarter was John’s. John scored 10 points in the quarter and knocked down two timely three point shots. He continued using his new found love for the tear drop in the paint and was able to push the ball in transition. With the lead stretched to 11, the Bulls kept making a push to get back in this one but could never regain the lead.

The Wizards close this one out 105-99. Very nice win on the road on a back to back against very solid teams. Also, it’s just nice to beat Chicago too. See you Friday when the Wiz take on Brooklyn.
